Birthday Pictures

On Thursday I took Cooper to Wichita to drop him off at mom and dads for the weekend.
I had not gotten around to get his two year pictures taken so I made an appointment for that day. I was very worried about having them done because Cooper is at a stage right now where if I get the camera out he immediately turns his head and will not look at me. However, to my surprise, he did really well. The photographer just let him play and mom and I played with him. We got some really good smiles out of him. I have posted A LOT of them here. We did not purchase all of these pictures, but I thought I would share them anyway. Some of them I just liked the expression on his face. I also could not modify these pictures (can't figure out how to turn them). I am assuming it is because of the copy wright on their disk.

Cooper is obsessed with "motorcyctals" right now, so he loved sitting on the little one for those pictures.

****side note****
I will post more pictures of Cooper's birthday party. I misplaced my charger for a few days and my camera was dead from my trip to NY. Do to this mishap, I had to rely on everyone else. Mom had taken some really good pictures and then accidentally deleted hers (I felt awful, she called in tears). The pictures I currently have posted are from Gayle, my mother-in-law, and I am still waiting on Aunt Cori's pictures.

2nd Birthday

Okay, once again I don't have the pictures in the order I would like them, but right now I don't have time to fix it.

We celebrated Coopers birthday at the park on Sunday. I kept it very simple this year. We only invited family and a couple of friends that are very special to to Cooper. I provided a Mexican buffet for everyone and Grandma Gayle make a cake. We had a great time, and the weather was great.

On Tues. I took Cooper to the Dr. for his 2 year check up. Everything went well. Contrary to popular belief (ha) I was told that Cooper is the size of the average 3 yr. old. He is 38 in. tall. and weighted 34 lbs. Doctor said that he is not overweight, just a BIG BOY.

I have more pictures, and Cooper got many other WONDERFUL gifts, but mom accidentally deleted all her pictures and I do not have any from Cori yet. I will post them soon.

Pretty Boy

Cooper, like any typical kid, watches everything Joshua and I do. So many times I will see him doing things or imitating things that both of us do. One of his favorite things is to be in the bathroom while I am getting ready. He will brush his hair, brush his teeth, wash his hands, etc. while I am doing these things. A couple times he have caught him putting stuff (anything) in his hair like Joshua does. I have found him using my eyelash curler, and putting in contacts before. With all of these things (except for actually putting stuff in his hair) he has just been pretending to do what I do. However, on 4th of July morning, we got the real deal.

We were getting read to go to Wal Mart and get stuff for Cooper's birthday. I was getting around and saw him get my eyelash curler out.....not a big deal. Well, Joshua and I (yes, we were both in the bathroom) turned around and this time he had gotten the mascara out too!

I have to say, not bad for the first time (not that I want it to happen again)!

Day at Council Grove Lake

On July 5th we got up in the morning and headed to the lake. Some of our family, and many of our friends were out there. We got to the lake about 11am and headed straight for the beach. It was actually not a great day to be at the lake if you wanted to be in the water. The water felt good, but it was not enjoyable to get out of the water. Regardless, Cooper was excited to have his "jacket" on and to go swimming.

After we were at the beach for awhile some of the families camping started to get up an around so we went over to the campsites. There we found hours of fun things to play with. Cooper and daddy went out in an inner tube and fluttered around. Cooper and daddy when on a ride on Uncle Rick's jet ski, and Cameron (Joshua's friend from HS who is also my sister-in-law's brother) pulled all three of us behind the jet ski in a big tube. This was not your typical tube for tubing, but a three seater. Cooper LOVED it, and kept saying "Oh, Yeah!" while we were riding around.

I was able to get pictures of everything except the family tube ride....my camera went dead!

We stayed at the lake until about 5 pm and then headed to Melvern lake to meet other friends along with Joshua's mom and sister to watch their fireworks show. Cooper had not taken a nap all day. Not because we didn't try, but because there was just too much going on. However, he did sleep the hole hour and a half to Melvern. We really enjoyed ourselves. Cooper did really well this time. He sat with Joshua the whole time, but did not cry. The show was very good. We were so close we could actually hear the men giving each other instructions.

On the trip home, Cooper was pretty wound up, but soon fell asleep. At that time we also go the phone call from Aunt Cori announcing her engagement.....YEAH!!!! We got home and the whole family crashed!

4th of July

On the 4th of July we went to Auburn. This is a town just southwest of Topeka. It should have taken us 30-40 min. to get there, but with Joshua driving it took about an hour and a half!!! When we got there some of the kids were shooting their fireworks and Cooper immediately hated it. We knew we would be in for a long night!!!

We stopped the kids fireworks and let them play on the slip-n-slide while we waited for it to get dark and set off the "good stuff". Cooper had never been on one before and he was so excited to be "swimming". We tried to get him to do it himself and he would either, run on the slide and fall backwards (So funny) or would lay down on his belly and "crawl" to the end. Either way, he was having a blast with the other kids.

Once it got dark we set off the other fireworks and Cooper made sure to be close by anyone who would hold him during the show.

Matile Wedding

A classmate of Joshua's had gotten married on June 28th. So after I worked at a garage sale all day with my mother-in-law we cleaned up and headed to Olpe. I had not been feeling very well, and I had to leave our house at 4 am to catch my flight from KC to PA. Needless to say, I was not really feeling up for a wedding reception, but knew I would feel guilty sitting at home. We went and as we were there Cooper played with the other kids and enjoyed watching everyone dance.

We left around 10 pm for home. Joshua dropped Cooper and myself off and headed back out with some friends. When we got home I was running a 100.2 temperature. I should have stayed home!!!

Computer Nerd :)

I ran to my mother-in-laws one day (we don't have a computer) and when I was done doing what I needed to do, I left the room. When I came back I found Cooper sitting at the computer "working". The computer was off, but he was sure working hard!!!
