Americus Days

This weekend was Americus Days for our small town. Due to the fact that Joshua and I play/run the softball tournament, we don't really get to enjoy much of what goes on at the park. However, we did take the time to take Cooper and some other kids to the parade.

Cooper did better this year than he did last. Last year he would not leave any ones lap for anything. This year, he was still a little uncomfortable, but with a little guidance he would run out to pick up the candy being thrown. Next year I hope that he is a little faster at this so that he gets the good candy... HA! The big kids just beat him to it.

We walked from the ball field to Main St. for the parade. While we were trying to find the Worrel family (Joshua's best friend from HS), we ran into several other friends along the way. We were walking past the Brunkow family and Cooper walked right up to "grandma Donna" and climbed into her lap. I had to take a picture.

Picking up some candy that the big kids did not get to.

I took this picture of Donavan and myself. Donavan is 21 months, and he was not quite sure what to think of everything going on. His mom and dad, Dom and Kilee, play ball with us. I love watching Cooper and Donovan play together.
Cooper is waving at the parade going by.
Cooper and one of his favorite people, Ben. Ben has been on the blog a few times before. Cooper adores Ben and always wants his attention when he is around.
When the parade was over Treva and I were trying to get the boys pictures. I know for the best shots they needed to face the sun. I guess the boys didn't like it so much!

On Sunday morning when Cooper woke up, he crawled into bed with us like normal. He was laying on my side of the bed and said, "I see parade." I replied, "you did?" Cooper, with his excited voice yelled, "YEAH!" I then asked, "what did you see at the parade?" Expecting to hear him say, motorcycles, tractors, candy, etc. he completely surprised me when his answer was, "horse poop." Of all the things I thought I would hear, that was not one of them.

Hello, my name is Shauna. I was just randomly googling my sons name and your blog came up. Our sons have the exact same name. Cooper Hamlin. Even crazier my middle name is Lea and my last name is Hamlin. Wow, that is so weird. Your Cooper is very cute! :)
