Another Appt.

I went to the Dr. yesterday for another check up and my sonogram. I am feeling much better about my progress and being able to stay at work now. The sonogram measured the baby at approximately 6 lbs. 10 oz. The Dr. was happy with this being as how this size is within the normal range (I was very relieved to hear this as well). The ultrasound tech assumes the reason I am measuring so big is because the baby is literally sitting in my belly in a tight ball.....hence I look like I have a basketball under my shirt.

Everything with my check up went well. My blood pressure was normal, I didn't gain any weight, and the baby's HR was 140. When Dr. Kemp checked me I was still about 2 cm. My cervix has not really started to thin out so I am confident now that I will be able to stay at work until April 9th. However, ANYTIME after that would be great!!!

I go back again next Monday and will update you then.

Weekend in KC

We went to Kansas City on Saturday to meet up with some family. My cousin, Tim, from PA was in town for a wedding so we met up with him for lunch. Then that evening, Joshua's cousin, Lori, and kids from CA were in town so we met them and some other family members for dinner. We had some time to waist in between meals, so we walked around the Legends Mall to get Cooper some much needed summer clothes. Cooper loves the fountains, and I thought these pictures were pretty cute.

On the way to KC, Cooper did make us laugh. We were just driving up the turnpike when Cooper suddenly says, "Daddy, here's the deal..... (Josh turns down the radio and we both are listening) Do you know the muffin man?" We look at each other and just start laughing. We are still not sure exactly where it came from (maybe Shrek), but it was so random we loved it!!!

Doctor update

I went to the Dr. on Monday (3/23/09). I knew that I would be having my "strep B" test done and assumed they would check me at the same time. I assumed he would tell me that the baby had dropped and I am getting "soft", but had no idea he was going to tell me I was already dilated to 2cm. WOW, I still have about 4 weeks to go. This can not be happening this quickly. I know I progressed early with Cooper as well, but don't remember it being this soon. I am still hoping to make it here at school until April 9th, but not sure I will.

I am going in for another sonogram on Monday (3/30) to check the size of the baby. Dr. just wants to prepare for any "complications" we could have if the baby is big. Do I know what these complications could be......NOPE!!! I knew I was having a big baby with Cooper, and we didn't do this so why now? I guess I should have asked then. I know he said that the second baby tends to be your biggest so we just want to have a look, as long as the head is smaller than Cooper's I think I can get this one out too!!!!

I do not enjoy taking pictures of myself (especially like this), but I have had a couple people ask how I look so I had mom take these for me on Friday.

Gone Fishin'

Every time Josh and grandpa Doug go fishing, Cooper is upset when he doesn't get to go. This weekend, Joshua finally took him out. Cooper and daddy left the house about 6:30 Sunday morning. They stopped to get grandpa Hamlin and headed to Melvern lake. It ended up being a SUPER windy day, but Cooper seemed to have fun.

When he came upstairs to tell me goodbye that morning, he was so excited, "Mommy, wake up! I am going to go catch a big fish with daddy!!!"

Cooper got to use his fishing pole he got from Uncle Shawn for his 2nd birthday. He ended up catching about 3 fish, but Josh was only able to get a picture of him with one of them.

Cooper's spring break

We started our weekend off going to the Emporia St. Patrick's Day parade. On the way downtown, we stopped to grab some lunch, and then had a picnic in the back of the van while we waited for the parade to start. Cooper ate his lunch, and then waited anxiously for the parade to start. The Worrel family joined us and we all watched the parade together.

On Monday, I had a Dr. appointment (nothing really to report....just the normal). I dropped Cooper off with Grandma and Aunt Chantal while I went to the appointment and ran some errands. I picked Cooper up around 11am and headed home. I decided to stop at the park for a few minutes to play before we went home for lunch. Cooper ran around and played for about 20 min. before we headed home.
When we got home I ran in the house and made some PB&J, packed some Cheetos, and a rice-crispy treat. The weather was so nice, so Cooper and I had a picnic in the front yard. Cooper LOVED it. He was so excited to see what was in his little bag. After lunch and a nap, we came back outside and played some "garf" and had a popsicle. Cooper and mommy stayed outside until daddy got home from work a little after 5. Then we all went on about a 1.5 mile walk.
On Wednesday, I met mom and Cori in Eldorado to give Cooper to them. Cooper had been excited for 2 weeks that he was getting to go stay with grandma. He would say, "I am going to go, bowling, skating, and dancing." We are not exactly sure where he got the skating and dancing, but we knew he would probably get to go bowling. On Wed. when I met them, Aunt Cori and Uncle Luke were going to take him to a WSU baseball game. Cooper was very excited and had to take his baseball glove with him (Cori has pictures, but I have not gotten them yet).

Mom and Cooper had a very busy day on Thursday. They went to the park and played.

Mom thought about taking him skating, but figured he would loose interest pretty quickly and decided to just go to Target and buy him some. So he got to skate in the driveway.

Finally they got to go bowling. Cooper is getting very independent and wanted to do everything by himself.

Cooper loves to watch Shrek when he is at grandma and grandpa's house. He doesn't have that movie at home. However, grandma's DVD player in the living room does not work so Cooper gets to watch it (over and over) on the portable DVD player that they have.
