Summer Fun

We brought the sprinkler that Maylea got for her birthday to Wichita for the weekend. Friday evening and Saturday evening the kids enjoyed cooling off with a Popsicle and the water.

Texas Trip

Kids are loaded up and ready to go for our 10+ hour trip to League City, TX (just south or Houston). The trip ended up taking about 11 hours with our stops. Not as bad as I expected it to be with the kids.

When we arrived we were greeted by the Schroer family. We ate meatball sandwiches and visited before going to bed.

The boys (Cooper and Jackson) did find some time to play for just a little while before going to bed.

On Thurs. we got up and headed south to Galveston for the beach. The last time we were here Cooper wanted nothing to do with the water. The further away the happier he was. This time was completely opposite. We couldn't keep him away from the water.

Baby Everson, 8 months

While playing in the sand, Cooper looks up and says, "I have to go potty." I looked at him and said, "go in the water." He looks at me with a funny face and takes off. I look up and catch him with his pants down. I was expecting him to go sit in the water, not drop his pants.

Maylea had a blast!!!! She enjoyed just sitting at the edge of the water and letting the waves come up and hit her. Then she would start playing a game and try to run away from the waves as they came towards her.....laughing the whole time!

While we were at the beach, Mom, Terri, and Annette went to see the Bishop's Palace. This was a home build by the family that founded Galveston and sold it to the Catholic Diocese in 1923.
Before we headed back towards Houston we stopped and had lunch at a fabulous Mexican restaurant. Both boys were asleep before we even got out of Galveston.

One night while we were there the "adults" all went to eat dinner together and us "kids" all went over to Ramie's house, ordered Chinese, and let the kids play.

Friday morning when went to Kemah for a little bit. The kids got to play in the water fountain, ride a couple of rides, and we hit just a couple of the little shops they have there.

Cori, Terri, and Maylea found the shade as we waited for the boys.

While some of the ladies ran into the shops Cooper, Maylea, Mom and I waited in the car. I saw this photo opportunity and asked Cooper if he wanted to go take his picture. He wasn't quite tall enough, but wanted to do it himself.

Then he wanted to take my picture.

Ramie and Jackson were sitting in the car too and came over to join us.

The remainder of our time was sitting around visiting and hanging out in the pool. My children slept VERY well on this trip.....if I could just get them to relax and close their eyes.

Oops, another Kemah picture.

GG Jane and Everson hanging out with us.

Maylea even got her own little pool.

Maylea and Everson got a little bit of play time in the air conditioning!

Maylea wants to know why the boys are in her pool, and not theirs.

Cooper wearing his "wobble googles". If you have a kid you know what they are :)

I love the expression on Jacksons face.

We did run to Rocket Park one morning. It is a branch of the Space Center, but it is a free area you can go through. Cooper thought it was pretty cool. He couldn't get over how big it was (I couldn't either).

Cooper and "the guy in the orange shirt", Scott.
We had a GREAT time in TX and always look forward to going back. I hope that one of these times we make the trip daddy can come along and enjoy the fun.
